NATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY OBSERVED AT GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL LUCKNOW:-
National Energy Conservation Day was celebrated in GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow on 14 December 2021. Every year on the 14th of December, Indians around the country commemorate National Energy Conservation Day. This endeavour aimed at creating awareness among the students on the conservation of energy resources.
A plethora of activities were conducted class-wise in the school to make students aware of the importance of energy conservation in our lives. The students participated with great enthusiasm and zeal in the following activities.
Students of Pre-nursery to KG were made monitors and were given badges on a rotational basis and were assigned different responsibilities like- switching off the lights while moving out of the class, checking that no child is leaving the taps open after using water, no littering in the classroom, etc. Students of Grade I and II wrote meaningful slogans on the posters that they made for National Energy Conservation Day.
Classes III-V students took a pledge on GREEN CLASSROOM where they learned several changes of behaviour to ensure healthier surroundings and the planet.
Classes VI-VIII students were told about the importance of energy conservation in these times. The students participated wholeheartedly and learned a lot by playing games like Energy-Charades, Energy Pictionary. They also wrote riddles based on energy resources (renewable and non-renewable).
Classes IX and XI students made beautiful banners and posters on the topic ‘Conservation of Energy’.
Thus, the day was celebrated by organizing various activities like taking pledges, playing games, banners, and poster making for different classes. The students participated with great enthusiasm and zeal in these activities. All these activities highlighted less energy usage by neglecting the excessive and wasteful uses. Encourage people for efficient energy use in order to decrease energy consumption and prevent energy loss.
Overall, it was an enriching and learning experience for the students.
