National Sports Day Celebrated at GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow:
Lucknow, August 29, 2024: Commemorating the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, GD Goenka Public School celebrated National Sports Day with great enthusiasm today, engaging students from all classes, ranging from Nursery to Class 12, in various sporting activities. The event aimed to promote physical fitness and teamwork among students.
For the younger students from classes Nursery to 2, lots of recreational activities and fun games were organized. Students from classes 3 to 5 participated in class-wise competitions. Class 4 students showcased their speed in the Space Race, while the class 5 students enjoyed the Sack Race. A thrilling Hula-Hoop race was also organized, keeping the students engaged and entertained.
In the middle school segment, an intense inter-house football tournament was held for classes 6 to 8. The boys’ competition saw a gripping match between Teresa and Tagore houses, with Teresa emerging victorious by a narrow 1-0 margin. In another match, Radhakrishnan House faced Tagore, where Tagore managed to clinch the game with a score of 2-1.
For the senior students, the basketball court became the battlefield for inter-house competitions. In the girls’ category, Tagore House triumphed over Teresa House with a close scoreline of 6-4. On the boys’ side, the much-anticipated match between Vivekananda and Tagore houses kept the crowd on their toes with intense moments throughout the game where Vivekananda won by 37-29
The National Sports Day celebrations at GD Goenka Public School were a great success, showcasing the talent, determination, and sportsmanship of the students. The school emphasized the importance of physical activity and sports in shaping a healthy and well-rounded future for the students.
