GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow, celebrated National Sports Day on September 9, 2024, with great enthusiasm. The event commemorated the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand and focused on promoting physical fitness and teamwork among students from Nursery to Class XII.
The younger students, from Nursery to Class II, participated in recreational activities and fun games, while students from Classes III-V took part in class-wise competitions. Class IV students enjoyed the Space Race, while Class V participated in the Sack Race, ensuring every student remained engaged and entertained.
The middle school segment, for Classes VI-VIII, featured an intense inter-house football tournament. Teresa House triumphed over Tagore House in a close 1-0 match. In another thrilling game, Radhakrishnan House narrowly beat Tagore House 2-1.
For senior students, inter-house basketball matches added excitement to the day. In the girls’ competition, Tagore House won a narrow 6-4 victory over Teresa House. The boys’ basketball match saw Vivekanand House defeat Tagore House in a competitive 37-29 game.
