GD Goenka Public School, Sushant Golf City, Lucknow, recently hosted the 10th edition of its grand Dandiya Night, marking a decade of tradition, culture, and festive spirit. The much-awaited celebration was a magnificent blend of rhythm, colour, and joy, drawing together students, parents, teachers, and dignitaries from across the city.
The evening began with the pooja and aarti of Ambe Maa, performed by the school’s Chairman Mr. Sarvesh Goel, Director Mrs. Lalita Goel, Principal Dr. Prerna Mitra, and Vice Principal Mrs. Sonia Mathai. This soulful start set a spiritual tone, filling the atmosphere with devotion and festive cheer.
The school campus was beautifully transformed with traditional décor — radiant lights, intricate rangoli, and marigold garlands — creating an enchanting setting. A highlight of the event was the energetic performance by DJ Viola Petrenko from Ukraine, who masterfully fused traditional garba beats with popular Bollywood numbers, keeping the audience on their feet throughout the evening.
Dressed in vibrant ethnic attire, participants showcased their dance skills in perfect sync during the Garba and Dandiya Raas, embodying the spirit of unity and celebration. The event witnessed the participation of over 4,000 people, including several senior bureaucrats and eminent personalities, adding grandeur to the occasion.
Exciting contests such as Best Dressed Male and Female, Best Dancing Couple, Dandiya King & Queen, and Best Kids’ Performer added to the thrill. Winners were felicitated with prizes by Chairman Mr. Sarvesh Goel, making the evening even more memorable.
