The vibrant festival of Kerala, Onam, was celebrated with immense enthusiasm and joy at GD Goenka Public School on 2nd September, 2025. The entire celebration was marked by active participation from the children, making the day truly memorable.
Students from all grades engaged in creative activities to showcase the spirit of the festival. The Toddler and Nursery children crafted beautiful torans using paper mango leaves and paper flowers, their innocence adding a special charm to the decorations. LKG students designed paper rangolis, decorating them with colourful stick stones, while UKG children showcased their imagination by making paper boats. Grade I children expressed their creativity through colourful paper rangolis made with tearing-and-pasting techniques on sun sheets. Grade II students contributed by preparing attractive Onam-themed posters on A4 sheets.
Adding to the festive spirit, the school cafeteria served traditional Kerala delicacies such as idli, sambhar, and coconut chutney, offering students a delightful taste of Onam’s authentic flavours.
The celebration proved to be both enjoyable and enriching, blending fun with learning. It not only familiarised the children with Kerala’s cultural heritage but also filled the school with joy, colour, and festive cheer.
