PARENTS’ ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR SESSION 2023-24 HELD AT GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL LUCKNOW:-
Best CBSE School GD Goenka Public School Lucknow held the ‘Orientation Day’ programme for the session 2023-24 on Wednesday, 29 March, 2023. All the parents of the newly admitted students attended the session with great zeal. The programme commenced with the arrival of the chief guest, Dr. Amrita Dass, a renowned educationist and career counsellor. Dr Dass is an eminent name in the field of education and career guidance, running ICS, a premier institution in the field of Career Studies, for more than three decades. She is also a member of prominent governing boards and advisory counsels of both social and government organizations.
The lighting of the lamp was done by the chief guest Dr Dass, along with the Chairman, Mr. Sarvesh Goel, the School Principal Dr. Prerna Mitra and Mrs ShailyDawra, Head Mistress Best Primary School GD Goenka . Proceeding on, Dr. Prerna Mitra welcomed all the parents and enlightened them about the school’s achievements and laurels. She praised the school’s education that is primarily existing of value-based education and an aesthetically rich environment. Under the able supervision of the Chairman and the Principal, Best CBSE School GD Goenka has etched its name among the 50 most eminent and upcoming schools in the country, being the best in the state already.
Dr. Mitra further informed the parents about the detailed infrastructure of the school, which included the different departments and segments of the school, the school motto and its significance in the growth of a child and the importance of the overall holistic development of the student. Dr Mitra emphasized and appreciated the concept of integrated learning that the school has undertaken and has been delivering great results over the years. The various fields and curriculum that Best CBSE School GD Goenka offers in the academic stream, sports and co-curricular activities were intimated to the parents.
A short ice-breaking session was conducted for the parents that included a jumbled-word game that the parents really enjoyed playing.
Dr Amrita Dass then addressed the parents, enlightening them with brilliant ways of career guidance for their children and also how they could enhance their parenting abilities. Dr Dass appreciated and applauded Best CBSE School GD Goenka for its exemplary achievements and its vision of grabbing new opportunities that are enabling the students to master their respective fields. She emphasized teacher-student collaboration for bringing out the best in the students. She shared her experiences that further enhanced the parents’ knowledge of how to guide their children to choose the right career for themselves. Moreover, Dr Dass emphasized the mental well-being of the child than just being a successful person in life. She ended her speech by appreciating the international approach of the school by adding the Cambridge Curriculum in the school. Dr Dass taught everyone the concept of ‘Swadharm’ which means self-realization and being the true self in your life.
An amazing dance performance-‘Ganesh Vandana’ by the school students was presented for the parents, which was appreciated and applauded by all.
The school Chairman, Mr. Sarvesh Goel addressed the parents by encouraging them to become better influencers in their children’s lives and not to impose their dreams on them. “A child should be allowed to bloom like a flower in a healthy and happy environment”, the Chairman said.
The programme ended with a high tea.
