PUPPET SHOW FOUSING ON THE THEME OF GOOD FOOD HABITS ORGANISED FOR LITTLE GOENKANS AT GD GOENKA SCHOOL
G.D. Goenka Public School organized a delightful puppet show titled “Kaisa shor” for the students of Nursery to Grade 2, focusing on the theme of healthy eating and the importance of vegetables. The puppet show was filled with excitement, learning and laughter.
The story revolved around Sarju Kaka, who was a farmer and wakes up from his nap under a tree due to a loud commotion in his field. To his surprise, he discovers that all the vegetables have come out of their homes and are arguing about who among them is the most important.
Each vegetable, from Potato, Sweet Potato, Radish, Carrot, Beetroot, Peas, Bottle Gourd, Cauliflower, to Tomato, proudly shared their unique taste, benefits, and how they contribute to delicious and healthy meals. The children thoroughly enjoyed the lively debates between the vegetables, their humorous dialogues and colorful puppet characters.
In the end, Sarju Kaka calms everyone down and wisely explains that every vegetable is important in its own way and that a balanced diet includes a variety of vegetables, not just one. He then organizes them—some underground, some on vines, and some on plants—bringing peace back to his field.
Through this puppet show, students learned that all vegetables have unique nutritional benefits and play an essential role in maintaining a healthy body. They understood the importance of including a variety of vegetables in their daily meals rather than sticking to just one. The fun and interactive format of the show helped reinforce healthy eating habits, encouraged children to try new vegetables and made them more aware of how food choices impact their overall well-being. The activity also enhanced their listening, comprehension, and observation skills in an engaging way.
