Festival of Rakshabandhan Celebrated at GD Goenka Public School Lucknow:
“Raksha Bandhan – A Knot of Love, a forever bond!”
On Saturday, 17 August, the pre-primary segment of our GD Goenka Public School came alive with the colours and joy of Raksha Bandhan. The children participated in various creative activities that not only celebrated the festival but also encouraged them to express their love and creativity.
The Toddler and Nursery students had a delightful time making cartoon-themed Rakhis. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and the Rakhis they created were both adorable and imaginative.
In the LKG class, students made traditional Rakhis, carefully threading beads and using colourful materials to craft beautiful designs. They were eager to show off their creations, and their pride in their work was evident in their smiles.
UKG students took on the task of making bouquets. With carefully selecting flowers and thoughtful arrangements, they created beautiful bouquets that showed their growing creativity. The children learned the importance of aesthetics and the joy of creating something beautiful for someone else.
Grade 1 students focused on decorating Pooja Thalis. They learned about the traditional items used in Raksha Bandhan rituals and enjoyed placing each item with care and attention. Their Pooja Thalis were a blend of tradition and creativity, and they were proud to display them.
Lastly, the Grade 2 students put their hearts into making Rakhi cards. With messages filled with love and colourful designs, these cards were meant for their siblings and friends. It was a joy to see them express their feelings through art and words.
Overall, the Raksha Bandhan activity in the classes was a huge success. The children not only had fun but also learned about the cultural significance of the festival. It was a day filled with joy, creativity, and the spirit of Raksha Bandhan, leaving everyone with fond memories of the celebration.
