GD Goenka students celebrate ‘Raksha Bandhan’ – a festival symbolizing the eternal bond between brother-sister:-
Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion to celebrate the eternal and auspicious bond between brother and sister and the affection of the siblings in the family. Raksha Bandhan is a beautiful festival of love, trust, and responsibility forever. It also underlines the notion that everyone should live in harmony and hence speaks about the rich culture and traditions of India that make our nation extraordinary.
The students of GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow celebrated this festival with great zeal and excitement on 30 August 2023. The day began with a special assembly, where children presented a beautiful dance depicting the bond of brother-sister’s love. The children of class Pre-Nursery till Grade II enjoyed making different crafts such as Rakhi, Bookmark, Matki decorations, and bouquets. Later, they took their craft home to gift to their brothers and sisters. The children were made aware of the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions with the help of a story.
The event was celebrated with full enthusiasm and festival fervour. It is truly said that such celebrations of festivals with true spirits teach the children about our Indian traditions. The children from all classes made different and colourful crafts for Raksha Bandhan.
