Republic Day Celebrated:-
“YOUNG GOENKANS CELEBRATE REPUBLIC DAY WITH FERVOUR”
Republic Day of India is celebrated annually on 26 January since 1950. It is celebrated all over India to honor and remember the date on which Indian Constitution came into force. Republic Day was celebrated online by young Goenkans with full zeal on 25 January in GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow.
Exciting activities were planned for children from Pre- Nursery to Grade II. The teachers discussed why we celebrate this day and its significance to the children.
The children of Pre-Nursery made a colorful lotus- our national Flower by paper tearing and pasting activity. This activity taught them about our National Symbols and was a great activity to improve their fine motor skills. The young ones of Nursery made a peacock- our National Bird with palm printing.
The children of Grade K.G. spoke a few lines on any one of the National Symbols with the props. The activity helped them learn about all our national symbols and also enhanced their communication skills.
Grade I and II children took a pledge from the Constitution. Grade I children spoke a few lines about the Constitution and made our tricolor flag – Tiranga. Grade II children made their rule book and were asked to write their own rules which they would like to implement to make their country better, peaceful, safe, and a progressive place to live in. It was amazing to read the rules they have written in their rule books.
The day was ended with the singing of the National Anthem – Jana, Gana, Mana with a proud heart.
