Story Narration:-
GD Goenka Public School organised an activity ‘Story Narration’. When we think of our childhood, the sweetest memory that comes to our mind is storytelling by our grandparents, parents, and teachers. The stories taught us about the good and bad and also had a hand in making us the people we are as grown-ups.
A virtual Story Narration activity was conducted on 11 February 2022 where the students of class Pre-Nursery to Grade II actively participated. Stories were narrated with the help of props like hand puppets, real-life objects, flashcards, and interactive PowerPoint presentations.
The teacher narrated the story of ‘Pete the cat, I love my white shoes’ to Pre-Nursery students. Children found it really interesting because of the creative gestures and facial expressions. Students of Nursery and Kindergarten narrated short stories based on CVC words. It was a surprise for the teachers to have such great storytellers in class that day.
Students of Grade I and II narrated bedtime stories, fairy tales and some self-composed fiction stories which were finely plotted. The appropriate use of props, voice modulation, and body language infused passion, enhanced imagination, and introduced children to the new horizons of story narration.
Overall, it was an interactive activity that helped the young souls for creative thinking.
