GD Goenka School Students Conducted Stationery Donation Drive
The Community Service Club of GD Goenka Public School Lucknow organized a stationery donation drive on 30 August 2024, involving students from Classes VI to XII. The initiative aimed to collect and distribute essential stationery items to underprivileged students in our community, promoting the values of compassion, generosity, and community service among our students.
The preparations for the stationery drive began a month in advance. The Community Service Club members coordinated with teachers, parents, and local businesses to gather donations. Students were encouraged to bring new or gently used stationery items such as notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, and other educational materials.
The items were then packed into individual kits, each containing a variety of stationery essentials. The collected stationery kits were distributed to local schools and orphanages identified by the Community Service Club.
The event was not only a success in terms of the number of items collected but also in fostering a sense of community and service among the students.
It demonstrated the power of collective effort and highlighted the importance of giving back to the community. The club plans to conduct such drives more frequently to reach out to even more students in need in the future.
