International Science Festival:
4th India International Science Festival (IISF) 2018 is being organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences in association with Vijnana Bharati at Lucknow during 5-8 October 2018.
It is one of a kind science festival which is a vibrant expression of the cultural importance of science and technology of our nation. It gives scientists, inventors, and researchers a chance to interact closely with students and citizens from all walks of life. This festival offers many different forms of engagement such as lectures, dialogues, panel discussions, and debates; through hands-on demonstrations, shows, exhibitions, and workshops; in form of science-related theatre and music.
Science Festival Programs:
One of the highlights of the IISF is the Student Engineering Model Competition wherein students from engineering colleges to display their creativity through Innovative Models, emphasizing on the role of science for masses and science for society. It aims to provide a platform for young students, scientists and technocrats from across India for exchange of knowledge and ideas in the line of flagship programmes like ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, ‘Swasth Bharat Abhiyan’, ‘Make in India’, ‘Digital India’, ‘Smart Villages’, ‘Smart Cities’, ‘Namami Gange’, ‘Unnath Bharath Abhiyan’, etc.
100 Working models based on the theme “Science and Technology – Building Partnerships, Impacting Society” would be displayed post scrutiny at GD Goenka Public School, Shaheed Path Lucknow on 6th and 7th October from 10.00 to 17.30 hours on both days.
The motive of the Science Festival:
The goal of the Science festivity is to help youth, develop 21st-century skills, with a focus on scientific knowledge, creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. One long-term objective is to encourage students to study and work in scientific fields.
