GD Goenka School Students Visit Army Medical Corps Museum and Waste Recycle Centre:-
On 30 September 2024, an educational field trip to the Army Medical Corps Museum and Waste Recycle Centre was organised for the students of classes 1 to 5 from the Cambridge section of GD Goenka Public School Lucknow.
The Objective of this trip was to learn about the history and contributions of the Army Medical Corps and to understand the processes and importance of waste recycling.
The visit to the Army Medical Corps Museum provided an insightful look into the evolution of military medicine. The museum showcased various exhibits, including medical equipment, uniforms, and historical documents related to the Army Medical Corps. The key highlights were Historical Artefacts where students explored a range of artefacts, including field hospitals and medical tools used in past conflicts. A guided tour was provided to students with explanation of the role of medical personnel in wartime, emphasizing their contributions in saving lives and improving soldier care. Several interactive displays allowed students to engage with the history of military medicine, enhancing understanding through hands-on experiences. They gained a deeper appreciation for the complexities of military healthcare and the advancements made over the years.
The second part of the trip involved a visit to a local waste recycle centre, highlighting the importance of recycling and waste management in today’s society.
Staff demonstrated how waste is sorted, processed, and converted into reusable materials, showcasing the technologies involved. A presentation covered the environmental impact of waste and the benefits of recycling, emphasizing community involvement.
The field trip to the Army Medical Corps Museum and Waste Recycle Centre was both educational and engaging. Students returned with a better understanding of military medical history and the crucial role of recycling in environmental sustainability.
