CBSE Workshop:-
CBSE Workshop on Financial Literacy and Digital Tools Conducted at GD Goenka Public School Lucknow. On September 18, 2023, an informative workshop focusing on two vital themes: Financial Literacy and the Utilization of Digital Tools, was conducted at GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow. The resource person of the workshop was Group Captain Mohammad Imtiyaz Ali, a distinguished individual renowned for his exceptional qualifications and extensive experience in the fields of Engineering, Management, and Financial Education. He is an empanelled trainer of the Centre for Investment Education & Learning (CIEL). This workshop was attended by more than 100 educators/teachers from more than 15 schools, aiming to enhance their understanding of financial literacy and explore the effective use of digital tools in their teaching practices.
The workshop commenced with a thought-provoking quote from Warren Buffett, setting the tone for the session: “Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving.” This statement emphasized the importance of prudent financial planning, a cornerstone of financial literacy.
Group Captain Imtiyaz Ali skillfully elucidated the fundamental concepts of saving and investment, providing teachers with a clear understanding of their differences and significance in securing one’s financial future.
The resource person highlighted the erosive effect of inflation on savings over time, emphasizing that strategic investments are key to financial security and a comfortable life. He also underscored the power of compounding as a substantial financial advantage.
This workshop was essential for educators, empowering them to make informed financial decisions not only in their personal lives but also in their professional capacities as mentors. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conscientiously conveyed the paramount importance of financial literacy and demonstrated the practical application of digital tools for enhancing financial acumen.
The workshop guided the participants about various financial topics and also motivated them to utilize a wide range of financial instruments at their disposal. Additionally, CBSE effectively enhanced teachers’ proficiency in utilizing digital tools for continued professional development.
