ONLINE TRAINING SESSION AT GDGPS ON ‘MY BODY, MY RIGHTS’:-

GD Goenka Public School Lucknow in collaboration with Red Dot Foundation (RDF), organised an online training session on the protection of children from sexual abuse for its faculty and student council body. This session was conducted by RDF member and lawyer Vaibhavi Rani and focussed on the prevention of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) in digital as well as physical spheres, identification of symptoms of CSA, the procedure for reporting cases of CSA, as well as the important legal provisions of the POCSO Act 2012. There was organic discussion on various aspects of child sexual abuse, child marriage, legal loopholes, etc. that took place in the flow of conversation, with RDF appreciating the active involvement of the teachers and the incisive questions asked by the student council members. As a result of the session, Principal Dr. Prerna Mitra, on behalf of the GDGPS fraternity, resolved to take RDF’s further guidance in constituting an official Child Protection Policy and POCSO Committee in the school and continue to have further gender sensitivity and awareness meetings on a regular basis.
