GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL LUCKNOW CELEBRATES ‘DAAN-UTSAV’ AS PART OF ITS SOCIETAL RESPONSIBILITY:-

On 11 October 2023, GD Goenka Public, School, Lucknow in collaboration with ‘Inayat’ an NGO of our alumnus Nandini Goel, took part in a donation drive at ‘Prem-Niwas’, an old age home operated by Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity.

Around 15 student volunteers along with 2 teacher incharges visited the old age home. The volunteers went on to interact with the inhabitants, many of whom had special needs, whilst donating the many supplies they brought with them. Heartfelt conversations between the delegation and elders followed stories were shared, and emotions ran deep. The visit culminated on a sweet note, and harmonising a melody for them. The head of the shelter home was overwhelmed by the volunteers and was happy to have us.

The day turned out to be fruitful and happy. The important values of empathy, kindness, gratitude, and sensitivity were absorbed from the visit. The school will have more such visits and drives in the future for the holistic development of our students.
