Dussehra Celebrated:-

The Festival of Dussehra is Celebrated in its True Spirit at GD Goenka Public School. Dussehra is a popular Hindu festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil.  It marks the day on which Lord Rama defeated the demon king Ravana. The celebration is to remember that the good and holy always wins over evil.

Our little Goenkans celebrated Dussehra with aplomb. The story as to why we celebrate Dussehra was shown to students through a video. The importance and rituals of celebrating this festival were explained in detail by all the teachers.

The tiny ones of Pre- Nursery till Grade II participated and enjoyed different activities. Students of Pre–Nursery, and Toddlers made Raavan with the waste tissue rolls. Nursery students made a Raavan with the help of an ice cream stick. Students in Kindergarten did a group activity and made a Raavan and its 10 heads using eatables. They also made beautiful paper Raavan crafts. Students of Class, 1 and 2 drew a picture of Raavan and colored it. Teachers also encouraged the students to speak about one such habit they promise to elude. Students promised and wrote about 3 habits that they will shun and how they will do it. Dussehra’s celebration was informative for the children. It indeed was a day filled with much excitement.
