DOUBLE FUN WITH GRANDPARENTS IN THE DIWALI MELA:-
Grandparents are very important members of a family who through their special love, affection, and care, keep a family close at heart. During festival time, the company of our grandparents provides extra fun and enjoyment and strengthens the family bond. With the festival on Diwali on the cards, GD Goenka Public School Lucknow organised a delightful day for the parents and grandparents on 22nd October 2022 to offer an opportunity to all to rejoice and soak in the spirit of Diwali and also to celebrate the special bond of love between grandchildren and grandparents.
The programme started with the lighting of the lamp followed by Principal Dr. Prerna Mitra and Chairman Mr. Sarvesh Goel’s compendious speech. Kindergarten students welcomed their parents and grandparents with a stunning performance. Nursery kids expressed their love towards their grandparents by presenting a lovely performance. Grade 1 and 2 students sang melodious songs, danced on dandiya beats, and showcased their talents by giving magnificent performances and acting on Dusshera. Students’ excellent presentation inspired a sense of triumph of virtue over evil, knowledge over ignorance, light over darkness, and hope over dejection.
On this occasion, the most innovative craft work of students from Nursery to Grade 2, like lanterns, diyas, paper rangoli, garlands, matki decorations, etc. was also displayed. Goenka’s also played fun games with their parents and grandparents like ‘musical hops’, ‘find out the balls’, ‘ball balance with scoops’, ‘passing the ball’, etc. They also relished yummy savoury snacks and sweets and got some beautiful pictures at the selfie corner to cherish these memorable moments.
The entire show brought joy to everyone’s heart, especially the grandparents when they shared some lovely moments and enjoyed with their dear grandchildren. They really embraced the celebration and had a great time!
