HALLOWEEN PARTY AT GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL LUCKNOW:-

“When black cats’ prowl and pumpkins gleam, may luck be yours on Halloween”

Halloween also known as All Halloweens’ Eve is an annual celebration of fears and spooky things. Every year, it is celebrated on 31 October. Halloween is all-age inclusive, from kids to adults, people can enjoy Halloween. Now, not just the Western countries but even in India, people have started celebrating Halloween. Years ago, this was celebrated as a solemn occasion. This day revered and honoured saints (hallows), martyrs, and all faithful people departed. However, this tradition evolved over the years and has now become an occasion to dress up with pop-culture references and candy.

To promote effective and joyful participation of students, GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow, organised a Halloween party for the students of classes Pre-Nursery, Nursery, and Kindergarten. Students came dressed up in Halloween attire with makeup and performed an act and danced to the music. They saw a short story on how and where Halloween is celebrated. Later they treated themselves to their favourite food. On the other hand, Grade I and II made smiley-faced pumpkin crafts.

Altogether, the day was great fun for children where children actively experimented with emotional and social roles. This helped in the development of feelings and building self-esteem. It also helped children learn how to work with others in society.
