GD GOENKA PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATED ‘INTERNATIONAL LITERACY DAY’:-
International Literacy Day is an international observance, celebrated each year on 8 September. In keeping with its aim to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities, and societies, Best CBSE School GD Goenka Public School celebrated it with a series of activities.
The students of classes VI & VII were shown a PPT on International Literacy Day and its theme for 2021 ‘Literacy for human-centered recovery: narrowing the digital divide. A discussion was held in every class on the need to take everyone in the society together for overall peace, development, empowerment, health, and gender equality.
In classes IX -X, a poem highlighting the significance of literacy was recited by one representative of every house in the English Period. Four representatives from every house gave a speech on ‘The International Literacy Day; Its significance’ in classes IX-XII. Some students had presented a PowerPoint Presentation in keeping with the theme. The event was conducted in the English period by the English Teachers.
The series of activities created awareness amongst the students on the significance of Literacy as it is the only key to empowerment.
