Orchestra Day Activity:-

School Orchestra Day Activity held at GD Goenka Public School. Music has been scientifically proven to have a powerful effect on the brain. A child loves to learn when it has music or rhythms and it leaves an impact in long term. Children inculcate music in their lives. They feel captivated when they heard any soothing tune or rhythm.

Awareness about Music Instruments:-

On Friday, July 8, 2022, School Orchestra Day was celebrated by our little Goenkans to raise awareness about music instruments and how music helps us to freshen our moods. Orchestra offers benefits to eye-hand coordination as well as increased cognitive skills such as concentration and visual recognition. Studies indicate that this tends to give kids who participate in orchestra programs, higher success in other learning areas like math and reading.

A musical instruments set-up was organized for one week in the concept room, where the children enjoyed and learned about different musical instruments. Children visited the music room where teachers introduced them to all the instruments like Guitar, Tabla, Drums, Flute, and many more.

All the students of Pre-Nursery to grade 2 went there regularly for 1 week. They danced, sang, and enjoyed the session. Pre- Nursery children brought their musical toys and learned how to create music from them. Nursery children made mouth organs, whereas Kindergarten children made guitars from straws and bottle lids and took them home. Grade 1 children made rattles and Grade 2 children made a drum out of waste material.

It is essential for children to feel compassion and love towards music and this activity helped a great deal in creating genuine love and interest for music.
