“Amazing Hand Puppets stimulate imagination and encourage creative play…!”
Puppet Show Activity held at GD Goenka Public School Lucknow. Rajasthan, Orissa, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu are some of the regions where this form of puppetry has flourished. The traditional marionettes of Rajasthan are known as Kathputli. Carved from a single piece of wood, these puppets are like large dolls that are colourfully dressed.
A Puppet Show organized by the Primary section (Class 3 to 5) enthralled the young minds as they watched their favourite characters come alive. The show was held on Wednesday, 20 July 2022, and aimed to enable the students to learn to converse and formulate their thoughts and words to the best.
The children were amazed to see their favourite stories like ‘The Wind and the Sun’, and ‘The bear and two Friends’ unfolding before their eyes. The dynamic students engrossed the audience with voice modulations, hand gestures, and effective use of creative and colourful puppets thereby encouraging them to be a part of the story.
