Inter House Activity Spell – Bee Conducted at GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow. Language plays an important role in all-around development of a student. Appropriate words with correct spelling convey the right message and a school plays a vital role to train the child in this direction.
“Spelling is important because it aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters.”
An Inter-House Spell Bee Competition was held on Thursday 21 July 2022 in GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow. It aimed at creating awareness of the possibilities of using varied words in oral and written expression and adding words to the active vocabulary of students. The competition was organised for class XII.
It was one of the numerous enjoyable competitions that gave students a platform to learn spellings in different ways. It helped students improve their spellings, increase their vocabulary, learn concepts, and develop the use of correct English. The objective of the competition was to enhance the spelling and literary skills of children by encouraging them to explore the English language, expand their vocabulary and improve their communication and comprehension skills.
Each house was represented by a team of three members from class XII. The competition started with great zeal and enthusiasm. The students participated earnestly in the competition. Their efforts and team spirit were appreciated by one and all. The competition was conducted in three rounds: ‘Dictation’, ’Picture round’, and ‘Down the Memory Lane’.
Excellent teamwork was demonstrated by the team members. The judges tabulated the result of the competition and awarded Radhakrishnanhouse with first, Tagore with second, Teresa with third, and Vivekananda with the fourth position. It proved to be a great learning session for the participants as well as the viewers.
