COMPASSION TOWARDS ANIMALS : A MUST TO HAVE ATTRIBUTE:-
Students of GD Goenka Public School Lucknow visit the Animal Shelter Home as part of its Community Service Programme. On 06 May 2024, members of the ‘Girl Up – Flames of Justice’ club of GD Goenka Public School Lucknow, along with some more students, visited the animal shelter home ‘Jeev Aashrya’ situated in Gomti Nagar Lucknow to make a donation and awareness drive.
Upon reaching the location, the students were welcomed by the staff and given a brief introduction to the initiative and workings of the shelter home by the management team. Then they gave us a tour of the shelter home where there were multiple recovering dogs from accidents, acid attacks, or serious diseases. There was also a section of monkeys who had been hurt and abandoned after being electrocuted.
The students were then made aware of the virtual adoption system for these animals and how to contact Jeev Aashrya when they see an animal in need of help. This was followed by a small interview of the staff conducted by the President and Vice president of Girl Up-FOJ Club regarding their organisation.
The visit was an eye-opener for many students when they saw the condition in which the animals were brought to the shelter home and vowed to be kind and compassionate towards the animals and help the distressed ones in every possible way.
