GD Goenka Students Express Gratitude on ‘Thanksgiving Day’:-

‘Thanksgiving Day’ is an annual national holiday in the United States and is celebrated every year on the fourth Thursday of November. On this day harvest and other blessings are celebrated. This day is celebrated to acknowledge family, friends, and loved ones for their presence and support in their life. On this day people give thanks in their own way and express gratitude for the abundance in their life. People organize a small gathering at their place accompanied by food and drinks.

GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow celebrated Thanksgiving Day on 23 November. Different activities were planned where students of Toddlers & Pre-Nursery made Thankyou cards with thumbprints, Nursery children made turkey birds with colourful feathers. KG children made turkey birds with finger painting and mentioned the names of people and things they want to thank, on it. Grade I children made a thanksgiving flipbook in which they wrote and drew the persons they want to thank and Grade II children made thankyou badges and did a thankyou worksheet & watched a video on Thanksgiving Day story.

It was a pleasant and enriching experience for all the students as they learned the importance to thank people and things, they are grateful for. This helped them to enhance their communication and behavioral skills.
