Young Goenkans Display their Sporting Skills:-
GD Goenka Public School, Lucknow celebrated its annual sports day ‘Sport-a-Thon’ of the pre-primary section with great enthusiasm. The chief guest was youth affairs minister Girish Chandra Yadav. The event began with a wonderful opening dance by students of KG and Grades 1 and 2 which was followed by various drills and races. Toddlers took part in a tricycle race. Students of pre-nursery were a part of ‘The Butterfly and Flower Race’ and ‘The Carrot Race’. Students of pre-nursery from the Mahanagar branch were a part of ‘The Healthy Sandwich Race”. The Chairman of the school Mr. Sarvesh Goel also addressed the gathering.
Annual Sports Day Support-a-thon was celebrated at GD Goenka. During this, students from the play group to class II participated in the programme. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Girish Chandra Yadav was the chief guest. He started the program by releasing balloons in the air. Meanwhile, different types of drills and races were conducted for the children. Parents also joined the run with their children to encourage the participating students. Little toddlers participated in the tricycle race while pre-nursery students participated in the butterfly and flower race and carrot race. Pre-Nursery students of the Mahanagar Branch participated in The Healthy Sandwich Race. The students of the class Nursery became a part of the ice cream race, and obstacle race. , Students of KG (Metro) also looked enthusiastic as they participated in the Obstacle Race, The Jumping Jack Race, The Bean Bag and Cone Balancing Race and The Super Saucer Race along with their parents. Also, The Balloon Race, The Balancing Beanbag Race, and The Stand Tall Race were enjoyed a lot. The chief guest said that sports need to be an important part of our daily routine. Sports and studies both are integral parts of life. He also told about several schemes to promote sports and sportspersons. The chairman of the school, Mr. Sarvesh Goel, while discussing the achievements of the school, thanked all the children and parents.
