Auspicious Day – Ganesh Chaturthi:-

LORD GANESHA VISITS GD GOENKA SCHOOL ON GANESH CHATURTHI

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of India’s most popular festivals. On this auspicious day, we worship Lord Ganesha followed by regular aarti and modak offerings, as it is Lord Ganesha’s favourite sweet.

Ganesha statues made of clay are brought and kept at homes. The idol is worshiped for ten days and Visarjan is done on the tenth day. The eleventh day is marked as Anant Chaturdashi.

GD Goenka Public School also celebrated this festival on 31 August with full enthusiasm and joy. The traditional ritual of keeping Ganesha at home was performed in the school. The idea of eco-friendly Ganesha was explained to students with a live example wherein Ganesha was made with water-soluble clay. A pandaal was displayed and arti was performed by the chairman Mr. Sarvesh Goel and the Principal Dr. Prerna Mitra. The small cultural presentation was done after the pooja, and the students of Grade 1 danced to the song ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya. The celebration ended with the immersion of eco-friendly Ganesha in the water.

Goenkan toddlers and tiny tots of Pre-Nursery painted adorable prints with fingerprint activity on a Ganesha image, whereas nursery students made play dough modaks, and Kindergartners made Ganesha wall hangings. Students from classes 1 and 2 went for a nature walk and collected dry leaves. They made a collage and also made Ganesha with the help of leaf painting.

The day ended on a joyous note.
