GD Goenka Students Visited a Gurudwara as Part of Their Educational Trip:-
The students of GD Goenka Public School Lucknow From Classes Pre-Nursery to Grade II enjoyed an educational field trip to Gurudwara Sachkhand Sahib, Vipul Khand, Gomtinagar, on 20 November 2023, an enriching experience designed to foster cultural awareness and understanding. The trip aimed to introduce the young learners to the different types of religious places, their practices, and the significance of the specific Gurudwara they visited.
Upon arrival at Gurudwara, the students were warmly greeted by the Gurudwara staff, they created a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for our tiny tots. The staff provided a brief relevance of their Gurudwara, setting the stage for an informative and enjoyable visit.
The students had the opportunity to observe various religious practices. They witnessed the recitation of prayers and hymns, gaining insights into the spiritual atmosphere of the Gurudwara. As part of the Gurudwara visit, the children were served Kadha Prasad. This sacred sweet pudding, made with wheat flour, ghee, sugar, and water, holds deep significance in Sikhism as a symbol of blessings and communal sharing.
To make the visit more engaging, an interactive session was organized. The students had the opportunity to ask questions, furthering their understanding of their particular traditions. The teachers facilitated discussions to ensure that the students could relate their experience to the cultural diversity and inclusivity of their religion.
The field trip to Gurudwara was a resounding success in achieving its educational objectives. The pre-primary students not only expanded their cultural knowledge but also gained insights into the values of respect, unity, and compassion.
