INTERNATIONAL PEACE DAY:-

                   Let there be peace on earth… and let it begin with me!

Peace is necessary for the existence of life in this world! On International Peace Day online celebration was organised by GD Goenka Public School to mark “International Peace Day” and create a sense and awareness in children about the importance of peace on  September 21, 2021. Little Goenkans celebrated it enthusiastically and participated in various activities to promote peace.  The celebration started with teachers enlightening students about the significance of peace and its need in our life. A PowerPoint presentation was also shown to little ones with emphasis on teachings and ways to maintain peace all around like giving respect to other people and all religions, being kind to everyone, doing good deeds, etc. The difference between being “A peacemaker” and  “A peace breaker” was also explained and discussed with kids to instill the love for peace in young minds and this charged the atmosphere with positive vibes as well as giving them chance to express their feelings about peace.

Pre-nursery and nursery kids took part in “smiley activity” and expressed their views about acting peacefully over various real-life situations through happy and sad paper smileys. Children of k. G. made peace symbol on a paper plate with the help of masking tape and sponge painting.

The students of Grades 1 and 2 made a beautiful poster with the help of drawing, finger painting, and hand printing to reflect their wish that “May Peace Prevail On The Earth!”

It was a pleasant and enriching experience for the tiny tots as they were enlightened about the need for peace in the world. The celebration concluded with dancing and singing on the “Peace Song” filling the whole atmosphere with tranquillity, in which all the kids diligently participated. The little ones promised themselves to promote peace in all walks of their life and become a peacemaker for this world added to the symbolic serenity of the celebration.
