International Peace Day Celebrated at GD Goenka Public School:-

‘Creating Peace Together’

Peace is necessary for the existence of life in this world! A special celebration was organized by GD Goenka Public School Lucknow to mark ‘International Peace Day’ on September 21, 2022, and to create a sense and awareness in children about the importance of peace.

Little Goenkans celebrated this day enthusiastically and participated in various activities to promote peace.  The celebration started with teachers enlightening students about the significance of peace and its need in our life followed by a special assembly where the little Goenkans promoted peace with a dance performance and also various other activities were lined up for the day.

On one hand, our tiny tots of Pre Nursery students did fingerprints on the cut out of the bird’s dove, which is a symbol of peace, on the other hand, the Grade Nursery students did hand printing on the outline of the peace symbol, Grade K.G. and Grade I students followed suit and made a dove out of a handprint and they excitedly decorated it too. Grade II students made a peace day card with a dove on it with handprints. They also wrote and suggested 4-5 ways by which they can maintain peace around themselves.

It was a pleasant and enriching experience for the tiny tots as they were enlightened about the need for peace in the world. The celebration concluded with students singing the ‘Peace Song’ filling the whole atmosphere with tranquillity, in which all the kids diligently participated. The little ones promised themselves to promote peace in all walks of their life and become a peacemaker for this world and adding a symbolic serenity to the celebration.
